Program:

Ann Ennis spoke about KEB’s strategic plans. Greenscapes are at the center of these plans. Greenscapes will act as landscaped gateways placed strategically throughout Vanderburgh County. For instances, WIA’s adopt-a-spot at St. Joe and Maryland will transform into a Greenscape. The entire corner area will be part of the landscape and will serve as one of the gateways to the west side. Not all adopt-a-spots will transform to Greenscapes. KEB will not entertain any new small spots.

The current smaller adopt-a-spots will become Heritage Adopt-A-Spots. A Gateway presentation will take place at Central Library on December 1. Ann talked about a statewide coalition Keep Indiana Beautiful that will provide better cooperation with state government, especially the highway department. In addition, instead of each town having a “Keep Beautiful,” Regions will be organized throughout the state. Pennsylvania already has this system in place, and Indiana is using it as a model.

The business meeting was adjourned at 3:15 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Brenda Jeffers
Acting Secretary
