We came, we saw, we ate!  The 2002 annual awards banquet and business meeting was held at the Old Mill on  Thursday, November 21.  President Fred Padget presided and a fine time was had by all (where were you?).

Past Presidents Shirley James and Paul Farmer. Ron Gatewood was presented a plaque in recognition of his long service to our Fall Festival by co-chair Bonnie Kolb.
Ian Luther of Reitz High School won the Farmer Family Scholarship. Lindsey Wagner of Mater Dei High School received the Paul Harper Scholarship.

G.Michael Schopmeyer, pictured with wife Angie, received the Environmental Excellence award for his work with Operation City Beautiful and the Pigeon Creek Greenway Passage. Long-time treasurer Bernice Sensmeier was presented with the centerpiece as a thank-you for all she does for WIA.
The Vanderburgh County Commission received the Governmental Excellence Award in recognition of their attention to Carpentier Creek and other issues.

Fred Padget presented the Board Member of the Year Award to Michael Lockard, Chair of the Land Use Committee.

Trena Roedel, Co-Chair of the Environment & Pollution Committee, was named Board Member of the Year in absentia.
